TROUBLESHOOTING HELP
Q. No one answers my email questions? How come?
A. We try our best to answer our emails. Sometimes because
this is not AUTOMATED, it is personal response, we cannot answer all
emails. In order to BETTER YOUR CHANCES of getting your email
answered, please send your questions to

We get spam just like everyone else does, but I get in total an average
of 5000 emails a day. If you send your questions to the above email
addy it is MORE LIKELY that I will read your email without it drowning in
spam! REPLYING TO THE NEWSLETTER is the LEAST likely way to get your
email read. That email addy gets the MOST spam.
Q: I used to be on your Newsletter list and all
of the sudden the emails stopped. How do I get back on the newsletter
list.
A: the sign up button link is on our homepage, please try to sign
up thru that link. If by chance your email box got full and your
email was "bouncing" you will need to reinstate your account.
If you are signed up and status is ok, then please add the following email
addies to your ADDRESS BOOK so that you may rec've emails and your isp
does not think I am sending you spam

if you still do not rec've your email you will have to contact your ISP
and have us "white listed" they are blocking your emails for
some reason. IF YOU ARE ON AOL please scroll down for further

Q: I am having trouble at the forum! I
keep getting REDIRECTED to the login page:
A:
IF you are getting forwarded to the LOG IN PAGE OVER AND OVER again
when trying to log in, and using INTERNET EXPLORER, do this
- click on TOOLS in your top menu bar
- click on INTERNET OPTIONS
- click on PRIVACY TAB
- move slider bar to LOW
- click on APPLY and then OK
- TRY AGAIN TO LOG ON
if the above does not work
MAKE SURE YOUR COOKIES ARE ENABLED

Q: I do not see links in the newsletter only
the words "go here" but there is no where to go!
A: you must be on "individual email"
not "digest" to see the links. if you are on
individual email and you cannot click please check the following
are you on "digest"? or "individual email?
are there "particular links" that are not working or all of
them?
did you recently download a new program?
please look at the following ideas/solutions and let me know if ANY of
them work for you
some other things it could

if you are using Outlook Express version:
6.00.2800.1158
this is exactly what I am using click on your TOP
menu bar and choose
TOOLS and then click on OPTIONS then READ make sure
the box is NOT CHECKED that says "read in html"
next click on INTERNATIONAL SETTINGS and make sure the box is NOT
CHECKED that says "use default setting for ALL incoming
messages" this is what I have my settings adjusted to.
HERE are some other reasons you may be having trouble
TROUBLE WITH LINKS AND OR CLICKING IN NEWSLETTER
SPYWARE / SCUMWARE.......................this
is a GROWING problem on the net........This is a program that
some UNETHICAL sites use that puts unwelcome information /
programs on your computer w/o you knowing about it. This
slows down or bogs down your computer and also TAKES the credit
away from our site for sending you to other sites so it looks
like the GUILTY site is sending you instead of Freelancebyu.
If a site ASKS you to download like GATOR and some POP UP
BLOCKERS that is also SCUMWARE in that it not only loads what
you think is GREAT but also downloads other things to your
computer that TRACKS your websurfing and also steals my clicks.
there are many articles about it and also some "fixes"
I have in the past promoted a few programs to CLEAN your
computer but they have prevented you once completely installed
from CLICKING LINKS that you normally would. SOOO my
advice is...........to download SPYBOT
BUT do not do
the immunization, only run and clean your computer
from time to time AVOID the immunization part if you want to
click as normal.

this program to avoid those problems FILL

NORTON INFO AND OR TROUBLE WITH
LINKS AND CLICKS
If you are
unable to see Merchant names, view links or click on
merchants on our pages, you probably have either Norton or some
other type of software with ad blocking software installed. The
latest Norton may have this feature automatically turned on,
when you installed it. This page is made possible by several
sponsored links. Please turn off your ad blocking software to
view this page in its entirety, thanks. If you believe it
to be Norton thats causing the problem, Click on your Norton
software, and click options, and 1. allow add content, and 2.
Enable Cookies. If you have any type of tool bar you
are running, this may also keep our links from being viewed by
you. Disable them! Occassionally AOL users may have a problem
with our links leading to an error page. If this happens to you,
please use Internet Explorer when accessing our pages.

Please help us remedy this situation!
You will need to contact AOL and request that they manually fix the
problem that you are experiencing with receiving our emails. Following
are three options and instructions on how to contact your AOL Customer
Support Representative.
1. Contact AOL by E-mail
Please send the following information in an email (you can copy and
paste it!) to casemail@abbott.office.aol.com
Subject: AOL Freelancebyu.COM Newsletter Problems
Make sure you have checked your mail settings
first to ensure that you are able to accept all incoming mail. Log
onto AOL and enter keyword SPAM You need to
ensure that you are set to accept all email.
- Here is the information that AOL will need. Please copy and paste
this into your correspondence with them. This will explain any
questions that they may have for you. If you don't understand their
response, please forward it to marshall@freelancebyu.com
and I will assist you.
To copy this information, please click your mouse in the box below,
press CTRL+A, release, then press CTRL+C. To paste, click your mouse
in the body of your email and hit CTRL+V.
2. Contact AOL by telephone
- Make sure you have checked your mail settings
first to ensure that you are able to accept all incoming mail. Log
onto AOL and enter keyword SPAM You need to
ensure that you are set to accept all email.
Please call 1-888-346-3704 (this is a toll free
number) and let them know that you have not been able to receive email
from freelancebyu@qcomp.net
, freelancebyu@topica.com
and freelancers@topica.com
. Ask them to create a "problem report" and request that they
manually make whatever changes are necessary to your email account that
will enable you to receive our incoming email.
ALSO
Tell them that you want to have them put the above email addresses on
their "white list" so that you will receive your newsletter.
3. Contact AOL by Online Support (least efficient way)
AOL Keyword "Help" then click on "Get Free Live Help
24 hours a day!"
We have found this to be a fairly inefficient way of getting this
particular problem resolved. If you do choose this method, please copy
and paste the above information into your chat
window.
4. Check Parental Settings
Recently, AOL made some changes to their users accounts that have
interfered with the distribution of email, specifically the Freelance
Times
We have since discovered what we believe to be a "fix" for
this problem.
So all you AOL'ers, here's the 411:
1. Launch AOL
2. Click Settings
3. Choose Parental Controls ... then choose your
Screen Name (if you have more then one Screen Name)
4. Click on More Options
5. Click on Newsgroup control and uncheck the
"Block ..." boxes ...
