BIRTHDAY 2004 Anjie's Surprise OMG what a day it was................
I take my daughter to school every morning, this day like any other day I took her to school and on the way home got behind a limo. This is an unusual sight in my "neck of the woods" so of course I noticed, and thought "what is a limo doing here?" LOL................that was it. He pulled over somewhere and I continued on my path home FREEZING with my stocking cap on, morning DUDS, coffee etc...........when I got home my best friend, Darlene met me in the drive way saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY and presented me with a beautiful gift. I went downstairs to change my shirt and the phone rang, it was RED...............singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU and gave me a big ole smile on my face, I had to let her go cuz Darlene was upstairs telling me "there is some man at your door" So I didn't want to get off the phone but I had to. I went to the door and this gentleman introduced himself as "Heath" from JAMES LIMO SERVICE (he was FANTASTIC and the car was too!) and said "you are coming with me" OMGGGGGGGGGG noooooooooooo I told him, I can't I have stuff to do and LOOK AT ME, I can't go with you! YES you are going said Darlene and Heath, EVERYTHING is taken care of................well can you imagine, NO MAKE UP, NO PREPARATION just going? I grabbed a sweater to put on, my make up case and darlene said "take your camera" AS SHE WAS STEADILY SNAPPING HERS.............YIKES..............I felt like I was in a movie or something. So off I went in the limo...........destination UNKNOWN! well when we got there downtown, HEATH said WE ARE HERE, I still didn't know where I was!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS WHERE WE WERE We walked into the salon and EVERYONE greeted me at the door! They have a VERY NICE STAFF and I was treated like ROYALTY! The day started with going upstairs to change (thank god) put your stuff in a locker and then go for a 1 hour massage, I wanted to put my hair up in a pony tail but didn't have a scrunchie so I used my locker key that was on a coiled cord :) ............the walls were painted in beautiful muted natural colors, nature music was piped in and the sheets were all heated. The massage was wonderful! They move you around the building in "sequence" so that you really don't see anyone else as you are walking around in a waffle robe & slippers ..........its like its JUST YOU in the building when in reality there are several people in the rooms. The lighting is muted as well. They bring you water constantly and reminded me several times during the day that I needed to drink more water! Next I was brought for a FACIAL. This was Steaming, masque, moisturizing, detoxing and head and hand massage. WOW againg this was just wonderful! After the massage they brought me to a little room that had magazines, rocking chairs and a little table that overlooked Main street. There was a delicious lunch of tortilini, fresh tropical fruit, spinach, vanilla latte and of course water with lemon! YUM I was starving and this was AWESOME, I cleaned my plate. ok lunch is over, get dressed and go downstairs to get a PEDICURE & MANICURE! I had broken several nails this past week moving boxes from my garage and ebay stuff, so they were all uneven and they had to cut them all off to make them look good :( booooooo hoooooooooooo but at least they are all the same length now. They painted them a pretty pearl pink! I had never had a pedicure in my life and WOW you get to sit in a massage chair while your feet are in hot bubbles and KIM was so nice and friendly that did the work. She is in Grad School for counseling so we had lots to talk about. Next to me was this girl from NEW YORK who was there for the "treatment" as well. She was young and vivacious and got me laughing! :) It was great fun. Now this area had a little change of scenery, was a little more "bright" and the music a little more upbeat, I think they don't want you to fall asleep after all of the rub downs and full belly you are really feeling SO RELAXED that you could go to sleep! So this was a little more "pick me up" style. After this you walk around in disposable slippers with tissue on your toes, LOL my hair still looked like a scarecrow, but WHO CARED?????????????? :) next stop was hair, JESSIE a sweet young girl, got hold of me and straighted my hair and styled it a lil more 90's than usual and put some GREAT PRODUCTS in it. WOW! She was friendly and did a great job! NEXT I went for make up. JOSH (who by the way I knew!!!!!!!!!!!!!! couldn't believe it, I haven't seen him in YEARS but I knew him since he was 4 years old!) is a make up artist and did my makeup for me! I told him to DO WHAT YOU WANT to me and he and I had fun reminiscing about him "skating in my basement" when he was a kid! The owner of the salon NESBIT stopped by and introduced himself. He is a SUPER nice guy and was making sure that I was having a great time. CALLI the manager was constantly checking in to see me and take care of me thru out the day. ALL of the staff worked very hard to make my day special! I even got a few hugs along the way! :) After my hair was done, everyone was very complimentary and all thru out the day the staff told me what pretty eyes I have, also they all commented how much they liked my hair scruchie (maybe a new fashion?) LOLLLLLLLLLLL. NOW this surely makes someone feel GOOD about themselves. I left with a goodie bag including a bottle of the nail polish they used, some coupons, some samples of some of the products that they used and some info brochures and a little pink notepad. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW now I took my camera with me but didn't have it with me AT ALL thru out the day, there was just no where to put it. So I don't have but ONE photo on my camera but it is just of an empty room there at the spa. The ones that Darlene took are the ones to look at! AGAIN let me tell you THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOO VERY MUCH For this opportunity and much much needed day to regroup and relax! WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you guys are the best friends and family that I could ever hope for!
LOVE YOU ALL
