FORUM CLOSING INFORMATION

FORUM: I am closing the forum by the end of this summer. It has been a FUN extra for Freelancebyu and I am grateful to all that have participated, volunteered, worked and enjoyed it! I am closing the doors to pursue some other endeavors! I have a surprise site opening in which you can all interact and have fun on - when the forum closes a new venture will begin!

The forum is closed to new membership, sorry about that, but this had to be done, My CREW and I were spending far too much time making sure everything was up to date, spammers out, appropriate posts etc etc......... there were a few "moles" in there too, right underneath our noses, but we have weeded them out (as far as I know, they are sneaky moles) and all is peaceful and quiet now and will remain this way until the NEW GRAND OPENING! If you are a pre-registered member of the forum you should be able to get in with your user name and password without issue. You can opt to have your password sent to your email if you don't remember it. If your ISP blocks emails and you do not rec've your password, you will need to call your ISP (internet provider) about HOW to get ALL of your email. I cannot control this.

With my EXTRA time, I will be writing an ADDITIONAL newsletter an keeping up with what we currently have now (minus the forum) and it is my hope that I can finally write that book I have been promising for years now! :) I will keep you updated as we go along.

POLL RESULTS INFORMATION

I held a poll in MAY of 2008

I had NO IDEA that anyone else would be interested in the results of my poll! YIKES why would someone want to know that (I ask scratching my head in wonderment) but anyway, here is the skinny..................

POLL RESULTS were for my own knowledge to see if it would be WORTH IT
to run a "no ad newsletter" for those that were asking for DIRECT LINKS and IDENTIFIED store names in the main newsletter. My idea was that I would also run "deals and freebies" that were not in the newsletter or blog, and/or items that my affiliates would not allow me to run as an affiliate. (trust me there are many that request that affiliates do not run, with threat to remove you from program if you do) if there was enough interest , I would make the newsletter, if there was not enough interest I would not waste my time.

The results showed that YES some of you would want this type of ADDITION and enough of you to make it worth at least trying! Just as many of you do not want to pay for a newsletter and like the free one just fine.....................and just of you don't care either way! :)

WHAT WOULD BE IN THE PAID NEWSLETTER?

My idea was that I would also run "deals and freebies" that were not in the newsletter or blog, and/or items that my affiliates would not allow me to run as an affiliate. (trust me there are many that request that affiliates do not run, with threat to remove you from program if you do)

I would also HI-LIGHT articles,writings, businesses, blogs etc of the "members of this group." This would be an "about me" of other members. EXCLUSIVE contests will be available to the PAID MEMBERS LIST so odds of winning would be greater!

This list will start with a SAMPLE newsletter that will include MADE UP companies, deals, freebies etc (not real) but would be an EXAMPLE of things to come.

GDAS will be released to the PAID NEWSLETTER BEFORE RELEASING THEM TO THE free newsletter, thereby giving paid subscribers a "heads up" on the deals that are not likely to last very long. This is especially useful during the holidays.

CONTESTS AND SWEEPS that are a bit elusive and short dated will also be in the newsletter giving the entrants (paid subbers) better odds of winning them.

FREEBIES that are likely to be pulled will also be put in SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS.

PRICE MISTAKES AND CODES that cannot be run by affiliates at large will show up in the paid version of the newsletter.

The rate for this newsletter in frequency and cost has not been determined yet.

WHERE WOULD PAID NEWSLETTER MONEY GO?

I make no secret that I pay for my site through the nickels and dimes that I earn through my affiliate links. I do not ONLY run affiliate links but I do include them when they "fit" what I am attempting to promote. Sometimes I make more money than others but for the most part I "just make it"

My expenses are many:

domain name
hosting
forum costs (separate)
ISP (I have 2 for business purposes, I would only have 1 if not business)
advertising
rewards & prizes
donations to others
taxes
fees , license, PO BOX
etc etc etc

I also feel that my time is valuable, if I did not share thru newsletter , blog and forum I would be spending my time entering more contests, writing more articles, finishing that book I have wanted to write and quite frankly more time with my home and family...........that hopefully will reward me for all of my efforts and education.

To start a PAID newsletter would be yet another thing on my plate to do but would consider if there was enough interest to make it "worth my time." My goal and mission with the website is to share the information that I have learned and taught myself through trial and error so that others could have a better quality of life, without depending on the gov't programs that are reactive rather than proactive, to promote a frugal lifestyle, to help mothers that want to stay at home DO SO without sacrificing their standard of living, and to promote GIVING to others that are not as fortunate.
