THE DETOX
DIET
Ok - here we go. First it says to ensure maximum comfort you should
add 2 B-Complex 50 tablets a day (for gas) and 3 enteric coated peppermint
capsules daily (one with each meal - prevents the bloat from all the fiber
you'll be eating)
Soup Recipe: Says to whip up a big batch to last all week
1 bunch scallions
1 bunch celery sliced (about 10 ribs)
2 Green bell peppers, sliced
3 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 10 ounce package mushrooms sliced
6 cups cabbage (about half a head) cut into bite size pieces
1 package onion soup mix (like Liptons)
1 can (48 ounce) vegetable juice, like V-8 (optional)
1 cube beef or chicken bouillon
1 1/2 cups brown rice, cooked
In large saucepot coated with cooking spray, saute scallions 3 minutes or
until tender. Add celery, peppers, carrots and mushrooms; cook 4 minutes
more, or until veggies are tender. Stir in cabbage, soup mix, 12 cups
water (or 8 cups and vegetable juice) and bouillon cube. Bring to
boil, reduce heat and cover. Simmer soup 2 hours. Add brown rice; cook
5 minutes, or until heated through. Season with salt, pepper and hot
sauce to taste, if desired.
Day One - unlimited soup + unlimited fruits + 1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
(can substitute 8 ounce skim milk for yogurt)
Day Two - unlimited soup + unlimited veggies + 8 oz. skim milk (can substitute
w/ yogurt above) Bedtime snack: 1 baked potato
Day Three - unlimited soup + unlimited fruits and veggies + 8 oz skim milk or
yogurt
Day Four - Unlimited soup + Eight 8oz. glasses of skim milk (Can substitute 1
cup plain yogurt for one glass milk) + 3 to 6 bananas yes it is 8
glasses of 8 ounces (I had to read it a few times to make sure LOL)
I don't know if I can stomach the 8
glasses, maybe I could make smoothies with the bananas &
ice...........
much easier I think!
Day Five - Unlimited Soup + unlimited broiled or grilled fish (can substitute
for chicken) + 6 fresh tomatoes + 1 cup plain lowfat yogurt (or 8 oz. skim
milk)
Day Six - Unlimited soup + Unlimited broiled or grilled chicken (or fish) +
unlimited vegetables + 8 oz. skim milk (or 1 cup plain lowfat yogurt)
Day Seven - Unlimited Soup + unlimited fruits and veggies + 1 cup plain
low-fat yogurt (or 8 oz. skim milk)
Says to eat veggies raw, steamed or grilled not fried or doused with oily
dressings
Eliminate starchy beans, corn and legumes and eat sugary bananas and potatoes
only when instructed to do so.
Drizzle your salads with low-fat or nonfat dressing (up to 1 Tbs. daily)
Opt for sugar-free soda and use artificial sweeteners in your coffee and tea
Add fabulous flavor to your soup by the bowl or pot and other meals by
seasoning with fresh or dried herbs, spices, hot sauces, vinegars, lemon
juice, soy sauce, garlic and other tantalizing flavors.
Also says because this is a detox diet to soak away impurities to shed pounds
faster. Soak in hot bath with proper ingredients (oatmeal, sea salts,
apple cider vinegar and mineral rich muds) - a hot bath works to clear away
dead skin cells and unblock pores so toxins can escape through the skin.
For spa - style detox simply pour one pound of uncooked old-fashioned whole
oats into a nylon stocking and tie. Hang it under the hot water as you run
your bath, then drop the oat bag into the water and leave it there as you
bathe. You can also use it as a sponge for gentle exfoliating.
Soak for at least 20 minutes then pat yourself dry, wrap up in a warm towel
and relax!
ANJIE NOTE: I made a SALAD DRESSING from the YOGURT on day 2 and used
it on a spinach salad and also on my baked potato, also used SALSA on my baked
potato (it is just veggies) I added LOADS of spice to my soup,
garlic, bayleaf, basil, pepper etc................and when I eat it I add a
spoon of jalapenos ............I also used more water than it called for
